Restaurant Spending and Mobile Engagement is on the Rise

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce data, since March 2015, Americans have spent more on dining out then buying groceries! Restaurants are stepping up their game by offering delivery, online ordering and apps! And with new ways to engage customers thru email, social media and push notifications – most of these mobile-centric restaurants are attracting loyal patrons.

“Smartphones have fundamentally changed how diners interact with restaurants and brands,” said Megan Flynn, author of the report and Executive Vice President of Program Development, Brand and Communications at Excentus. “The Mobile Channel now impacts nearly every aspect of restaurant operations and investment”
